Journal of Future Education expects all submissions to demonstrate originality, accurate attribution, and respect for intellectual property. Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, images, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgement.
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using Turnitin or another suitable similarity-detection tool. The journal's published ethics policy identifies a similarity score exceeding 25% as grounds for automatic rejection. This threshold must be applied in accordance with the journal's actual screening configuration and should not replace editorial examination of the sources and context of similarity.
A similarity score is an indicator for further assessment, not a complete determination of plagiarism. Editors should consider the nature of the matched text, the sources involved, the use of quotations, references, standard terminology, methodological descriptions, and possible overlap with the authors' previous publications.
Authors must cite sources accurately, distinguish their own contributions from earlier work, and disclose relevant reuse of previously disseminated material. Duplicate or redundant publication, including substantial undisclosed overlap with another published article, is not acceptable.
Where potential misconduct is identified, the editor may request an explanation, examine the relevant sources, seek additional information, require revisions, or reject the manuscript. The seriousness of the issue and the available evidence will guide the decision.
If plagiarism or inappropriate overlap is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, depending on the circumstances. Authors remain responsible for the originality and integrity of their submitted work.
