Journal of Future Education follows the principles of responsible scholarly publishing and the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Allegations of research or publication misconduct are handled impartially, confidentially where appropriate, and on the basis of evidence.
Potential misconduct includes plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, inappropriate image manipulation, undisclosed duplicate publication, authorship manipulation, undisclosed competing interests, unethical research involving human participants, and deliberate misrepresentation of research methods or findings.
Concerns may be reported by authors, reviewers, editors, readers, institutions, or other individuals with relevant information. Reports should identify the article or submission and describe the concern as clearly as possible. Supporting documents or evidence are helpful but are not mandatory for an initial report.
The editorial team conducts a preliminary assessment to determine whether the allegation falls within the journal's responsibility and whether further investigation is warranted. The editor may request original data, research records, ethics approval, consent documentation, or clarification from the authors.
Authors will normally be given a reasonable opportunity to respond. Where necessary, the journal may consult independent subject experts, the relevant institution, a research ethics committee, or another appropriate authority. A report will not be treated as proof of misconduct without an adequate assessment.
Information about individuals reporting concerns in good faith will be handled confidentially to the extent reasonably possible. The journal will not tolerate deliberate misuse of the reporting process to harass or unfairly damage another person's reputation.
If misconduct is substantiated, possible actions include rejection, correction, publication of an expression of concern, retraction, notification of relevant institutions, or other proportionate measures. Decisions will take account of the seriousness of the conduct, the evidence, and the effect on the integrity of the scholarly record.
